Director - Bruce Harper
Bruce Harper’s devotion to universal storytelling and delight in working in the drama and light comedy genres have resulted in critically acclaimed television specials and documentaries as well as television and motion picture screenplays and commercial projects.  His commercial projects effectively communicate with the target audience, bringing customer and client together in a lasting and meaningful way.  His television and motion picture projects explore the comedy and adventure in everyday life, themes that are strong in his first project, Never Lose Your Hope.  In 1991, Harper wrote and produced Never Lose Your Hope, transforming a spark of an idea into an EMMY award-winning Christmas special.  Next, Harper produced a statewide television special, Shape Up Michigan, which ran on every television station in the state of Michigan and was critically hailed.

Harper’s first directing assignments were a series of corporate videos for the American Red Cross, Kmart Corporation and the Ford Motor Company, followed by several documentaries.  Revisiting the Dream takes a fascinating look at the largest civil rights rally up to that time held in Detroit, Michigan where Martin Luther King, Jr. first delivered his I Have A Dream Speech in 1963.  Band of Gold was an EMMY award-winning documentary exploring the musical world and legal intrigue of one of the business’ most prolific songwriting teams, Holland-Dozier-Holland, and their quest to take control of their musical destiny.  In addition to corporate communications and documentary projects, Harper has produced and directed several television commercials for companies like Ford Motor Company and City of Detroit as well as for politicians and labor organizations.

In 1998 Harper founded Big City Films, a writing, producing and directing company with the mission of being the recognized leader in storytelling for general audiences. Prior to Big City Films, he was an accomplished television insider with key involvement in live broadcast, news and entertainment specials.

Now, Harper writes original network television pilots and motion picture screenplays while developing webisode projects. He continues to direct television, documentaries and commercials projects that tell the universal stories of life while building Big City Films into one of the world's leading entertainment companies.
